These guys are killing me. My race gear is not even put away yet and already I'm being hit up for race fees....who else is signing up for this race? I'm doing the OLY, but a Sprint, Mini and a Du are available as well, we can all go out for beers and pancakes afterwards!!!

I'm going to wait until a couple of weeks before the race and sign up then if the weather forecast is reasonably warm.  This race sucks when it's cold and snowy but hopefully global warming will kick in and we can enjoy  a great race.

How do they run the indoor swim as far as the amount of people and lanes and all that?

mpdiotte - 2008-11-05 4:49 PM How do they run the indoor swim as far as the amount of people and lanes and all that?

No lanes, it was just a mass start and you swim back and forth like 30 times or something. You have to keep track of your lap #'s, there is no limit on people, last year for the OLY there was like 800 all thrashing around in the pool back and forth. No serious injuries thank god!

This year I think they are doing a zig-zag (down the lane and back, under the lane rope - repeat as nessassary) in 15 second intervals.

I may do the sprint - depending on my knees (they've been acting up again the past two weeks or so....so it's hard to predict if I will even be able to run a 5k mins pain free...sure hope so but I am losing hope as the weeks/months pass by....)

but I, too, will hold off on registering until closer to the event....

Yeah, I waited till a couple weeks before last year....I'll probably do the same this year. I did the Du and it was pretty good - not sure this time round.
