a friend of a friend of mine told me that these results take time to process, so from the day the test sample is taken to the time that the "warning" is issued maybe a few days later and conditions as we all know change sometimes by the hour.
Certainly I could be wrong and going on hearsay. I must think that the water at cedar beach and all those beaches mentioned has got to be better than any beach in Lake st. clair.

Maybe a certain Scientist we all know might be better suited to answer the question.

sometimes I speak before thinking

They will test again on Wednesday and the results will be on the Health Unit website on Friday.  Maybe I will be able to still get the Saturday OWS in.  For now, off to the Essex pool, or I will head over to Belle River too.

I don't want to take any chances.   Even the Scientist last year was cautious!

The test results are accurate in the sense that they do a thorough job of collecting samples, plating them, incubating, counting the colonies, and reporting the results. However as Jeff is suggesting the posted results don't necessarily reflect current conditions. The last samples were taken on June 17, and we had a large storm since then. Wave action churns material up from the bottom and heavy rains cause run-off that often contains sewage or manure. With a few days of calm weather this week I'm guessing that this Wednesday's samples will be fine. It's a little early in the year to get high readings and it has not been hot enough.

You can find the weekly test results here:

http://www.wechealthunit.org/inspect/beaches

According to the table the beach was not closed, which requires a reading of 1000. The readings were over 100 so they posted a warning.
