How many people do P90X as part of their training?  I've been doing that as well as running/biking.  I am hoping it has given me a real good base of fitness as my first tri (a Sprint, thank goodness) is less than 2 months away.

Last week was my first week doing it and I love it so far! I do need to work more on getting my other training rides, runs and swims in though. Just starting a little slow and working my way into it

I'm considering doing it this winter to keep in shape and work on some upper body for the off season.  From what I understand about it, it would be too much for me on top of by bike/run training and work schedule.

It is a great program for someone that is 100% committed to tri's and that sort of thing. Works the whole body with alot of BW movements.
I continue to do my PL as I have too many years invested to throw it away. I will say though, it is very hard to lift heavy with all the added cardio(swim/bike/run) that I have added in. My other issue is trying to maintain BW without losing.

I am 100% commited to my training yet I don't do p90X as I don't see what benefit it can provide for my endurance training. I do however do specific ST training every week while I s/b/r.

My wife just ordered it. I am planning to do it this winter. I hate going out in the dark and frigid.

I was thinking about doing it this winter but since my achilles tendon is not healing I was considering starting now. I picked up resistance straps at walmart for under 20 bucks, was the only part i was missing so i may try it sooner than later.

There are a couple threads in the weight loss and strength training forums you may want to look at.

I just got my DVDs, but I think I'm going to wait to start until November-ish. Just in time to start showing some results for Christmas and the cruise I might be doing in January. I see it as a nice off-season compliment, and a "no-thinking" approach to getting ripped. I've done my own programs and love it, but I've got too much going on right now, so being able to throw in a DVD and have someone tell me what to do is, I think, going to be a nice change for a bit.

I went from 285 to 228 doing it.

I need to start a new round.

Have just been doing the stretch and yoga recently.

I like it but I think its too intense for someone training for tri. I do the ST workouts once or twice a week and then the yoga, stretching, core and abs etc as often as I can.

The yoga and stretching routines are great for stretching the legs.
