Thanks everyone. I pushed too hard really (about :40 faster than I normally run) as evidenced by having to visit the trash can but I wanted to win just once.
That's phenominal, even "pushing yourself" as you say. My personnal best some twenty years ago "pushing myself" to the maximum was six minutes and I also had to visit a waste receptical afterwards. Congratulations, with a time like that, you must certainly run a competitive 5k or 10k race.
I went sub 18:00 in a sprint tri last year(my first) and that was the fastest that I had ever run 5k. This is the first year that I am going to try to fly at some races. Usually I just run for fun and not even race, I enjoy talking to people too much to worry about time.
