Mike, you mention you are totally spent after your 13 mile run. Are you fueling and hydrating properly? Hubby finally won me over on the virtue of drinking enough on the run and taking in carbs (liquid ) before and after. Best stuff we've used is Hammer Nutrition products. We use Heed on the run mixed with water, and Recoverite (also mixed with water ) after the run, or any long training session. We've skipped recoverite a couple of times and we felt like zombies. Totally zapped of all energy. We're in training for our first half (Gulf Coast in May ) and will be bumping up training for IM FL in November and I don't think we could get through our long bikes and runs without this stuff! |
