You don't even need to have edited an image before.  All I am asking is, CoJ, what sort of imaging effects would you add to this so that it would look professional when placed on the banner of a facebook page, or inside a brochure?  I will do the leg work in applying your ideas.

(Edit:  I can't seem to upload this image.  Link to the image is here:)

I don't know what would go with a red "X" - perhaps Teejaay may know?

Sigh... I tried to edit the thread before SOMEONE turned it into another Thread About Nothing, which can never be killed.

Now to your original question.  I'm not very artistic, so take this with a grain of salt.

I would think any enhancement that would draw more attention to the brighter center spot.  Something like an oval fading from light at the outside edges to a darker center.

IMO the area of focus is too small. Too much of the picture is blurred too much. So either an affect to draw the eye toward what you want or a new pic with a bit more focus and maybe less around the edges. Hope that makes sense. Essentially the focus was too tight, I would like to see tighter focus on the silver clamps.

A good photograph doesn't need explaining. There is too much going on in this image to guess what it's all about.
I'm guessing that it has something to do with micro circuit soldering of some sort?

For this to work the photo needs more depth of field, less extraneous (distracting) stuff, and more lighting emphasis on what part you want the viewer to pay attention to.

Here is a quick edit to demonstrate cropping. However I feel re photographing would give better results.
