I was disappointed to read that they went political and left out the iconic scene of the astronauts planting the US flag. Their rationale was that the lunar landing was a "human accomplishment". True but that does not make it mutually exclusive to being an American accomplishment. I worked directly for two different managers at Boeing who worked on the Apollo program. I loved listening to the old greybeards tell stories about the Apollo programs. I remember one of them tell about how they designed the wheels and all the tests they did on various concepts before settling on a final design. Trivia questions: How many times did man walk on the moon? Hint, Michael Jackson never did. How many times have we (US of A) landed a manned spacecraft on the moon? Pro 15655 | Subject: RE: First Man I remember watching the landing with my mom on a black and white TV in their bedroom while my dad was working night shift. Pro 15655 | Subject: RE: First Man Well, I'm old enough to remember looking longingly at those commercials and then at the Dr. pepper in the soda isle when shopping with my mom.....in the 60's.....and even way back then my folks wouldn't give us soda to drink.....bastards that they were.
