Hi all!

I'll be in Peterborough for the HIM duathlon on july 4th and I'm trying to make the most out of my first visit there. So, is there any pub/restaurant that I absolutely need to try post-race? I tend to like the local breweries...   Anything I need to see or do??

Since we're at it, anybody else competing that day?

Thanks!

Not doing Peteborough, but I did do it a few years ago (sprint in 05 and 06, HIM in 07).

I have a good friend there and my sister went there for university so I know peterborough reasonably well.  We always go to Charlotte Annes when we are there.  not a pub, but a small restaurant that has a killer caesar salad.  fairly close to the race site as well.

I am doing the half iron.  What is everyone else doing?  I know a few people that are racing also, so it will be hard not to push a little harder!!  Hoping for a nice weather.

I'm doing the half iron duathlon. If the weather forecast is right, we're on for a nice brain cooking session on the run!!

Bring your sunscreen!

Hope everyone had a better race than me.  The first 200 meters someone hit me just right and dislocated my shoulder.  It went back in and i finished the last mile with use of one arm and kicked like hell.  I was 3rd last out of the water and fully gassed and exhausted!  I was 352 fastest on the bike and it hurt too much too be in aero coming back.  I was 186 fastest on the run since i could hold onto my shirt for a kinda sling/support and it was a slow 2:02 for me.  Running is my strongest suit.  I finished off in 288 place out of 438 and 27/40 in my 30-34 age group.   The medics put my in a sling and told me to go the hospital since the pulse in arm is lower than my left.  I am too tired to go tonight, so hoping it will feel better tomorrow or i will be in the hospital tomorrow.  This is my 3rd time in 4 yrs, but never in a race though.

Really sorry to hear that.   Hope your feeling better soon.

I did the Aqua/bike and had a good race.   I REALLY like that bike course.

Hey Jamie

I read your post in the HTFU thread earlier this morning and all I can say is WOW!!  That is an impressive accomplishment. Needless to say, I don't think I would have had the same presence of mind or physical strength to continue on. Congratulations on being able to finished the swim, nevermind the rest of the race. Hopefully that shoulder is feeling better in the next couple of days. Great job on a tough race and from what I hear, even tougher conditions.

They will e-mail you when they are ready with your pictures.   Usually takes a couple of days.

Really sorry to read that man! That is some HTFU at the highest level!
I think I saw you after the race, were you wearing a blue/white top?

After reading that kind of story, I almost feel bad telling that I had a good race... the run went almost too well to be true. It seemed that it was one of those day when every little decisions I took turned out to be a good one. I finished 6th overall, 3/7 in the men 20-29. I am REALLY happy about that.

I was wearing a blue and white tri top.   Shoulder is feeling much better today and almost considering doing Du this weekend.  I will decide on Sat if my shoulder is healed enough yet.   The Du is only a Olympic distance, but very hilly.   I am still so disappointed and want to race again as soon as possible.
