Subject: RE: Bike Training Videono - spinervals are not just audio - they come in VHS or DVD format and they are videos. On the video, Coach Troy Jacobson runs an interval workout and he has guest cyclists (some amateur and some pro ) doing the workout. Once you've watched it a few times you tend to ignore the guest cyclists, but it can be helpful to watch them for technique tips occasionally. Graphics on the screen include a clock timer and description of the gear you should be in for each interval. Some of the more recently filmed titles also show a % effort and target heart rate for each interval set.
There are 20 some titles that range in difficulty from fairly easy 45 min workouts to 3+ hour workouts. They focus on cyclists (as opposed to fitness spinning ) and I found them very helpful, especially over the cold winter months. I started using them as a complete novice cyclist and was able to keep up with the workouts just fine, and I learned a lot about the sport. I would recommend them pretty highly. I plan to use them frequently over the winter this year.
