Subject: RE: Ironman Lake Tahoe : Official ThreadI live at sea level in Southern California, but am about 1-1/4 hours away from access to altitude. I have a friend who has a cabin at 7,000 feet and I expect to spend a lot of time up there. He says there is a stretch of road from the town to his cabin that is four miles long with 1300 feet of gain, so I think that will work well. In any event, I don't plan to start working on altitude until next April. I am planning to go up to Lake Tahoe in May or June and ride the course and swim in the lake, just for some calibration. I looked into the tent system and it is just too expensive for me. Being among the slowest of the IM athletes, I can't quite justify the expense. And yes, it is a beautiful venue. |
