Subject: injured by your bike shorts?

Has anyone else had the rubber on the bottom of their bike shorts tear their skin?  Normally I LOVE 2XU, but this is what happened on my ride Sunday

Biker chicks often roll them over so grippers don't touch your skin.

Hope it heals up.

Um nope...that's weird...I'd find some new shorts. (pearl izumi's don't do that).

My 2XU calf compression sleeves do that same blister-burn every now and then. That rubber gripper they use is fierce - I think I'm going to cut them out of my sleeves.  Otherwise, I love them - 2XU makes great stuff, just wish they'd simmer down that harsh gripper bite.

Cheers, Chris

OH gosh, that's horrible!

Roll up the bottom- or better yet, buy a new brand. That's nuts.

That same exact thing happened to me with my 2xu racing jersey! I still have slight marks, and the race was over 1 mos. ago. Sucks!!

I just did a ride in my new 2XU shorts the other day, and this morning I had an itch, and scratched my leg not realizing I had totally gotten a chafe spot. Ouch! I was thinking mine might have been from my underseat bag that was annoying brushing against the back of my leg, but I don't think it would have left the spot I have.

One thing to try which has helped me in the past is to pull up the shorts slightly more, which decreases the friction around the grippers. Also add some chamois cream on the grippers before the ride.

Not to sound dumb, but do you have the right size?  We bikers tend to earn disproportionately large thighs and the size of your waist might not lead you to buying correctly-sized shorts when it comes to your thighs.  Maybe this particular 2XU short doesn't compensate properly for that difference.  It looks like they might have been clinging a bit too tightly to your thighs while being tugged by your waist band.

x2 on the Pearl Izumis, btw.  Love mine.  I have also heard good things about the Aevero (sp), which are way cheap and I'm going to try next.

Good luck!

Hello

I have been riding in black Under Armour heat compression shorts  -  IE no pad.

My wife thinks they show to much-

So I buy some tri-shorts with a pad-  Now when I ride my bike in the tri-shorts my stuff is numb from the rubbing of the pad texture.  Not numb like bike seat entire package numb but numb from rubbing.

The tri-shorts with the pad dont really cover everthing anyways so I think the UA is what I need to wear.   I try to tell my wife that nobody is looking and if they are theres nothing to see after a swim-ride-run or even just ride.  Sweat-Air equals  cool and shrinkage.

So if the pants don't fit you can convict!  Sorry  Get new ones!
