Subject: RE: So, my wife asked meHappy 50th! It's one hell of a buzz isn't it, plus an extra bit of drama during yours too I'm glad it worked out though I've done 2 tandem sky-dives and I loved both for very different reasons. I suffer from chronic vertigo, and did the dives to try and help me with it, plus it was part of my whole ongoing mid-life crisis thing! The strange thing was, I only got a 2 second "oh cr*p" moment as I was standing right on the edge of plane just before we tumbled out, which apparently is completely normal. No more fears after that, absolutely loved the freefall, and I got a couple of fun instructors who did all sorts of acrobats and steep turns after the chute deployed. My words on my 2nd skydive when the chute deployed were: Me: "Thank goodness for that" Instructor: "Yes, everyone is happy when the chute comes out". Me: "No no, I wasn't worried about that, I'm just glad it's not pink, because I really really hate pink!". Instructor: Hysterical laughter, followed by "you are utterly insane"! Just for the record, I suffer from chronic vertigo (a genetic problem with my inner ears), and I found that skydiving really helped alleviate the problems for about 3-6 months after each dive. |
