That means I got to work on my bilateral breathing. Wow. It's been almost a year since I breathed on the left side, it seems. Apparently I've forgotten how. First lap: breathe on right -- fine, smooth-ish, ok Second lap: breathe on left - run into the lane line, run into the other lane line, nearly scrap my toes on the bottom of the pool...
Hrmmm... might need some work. So I spent the next 950 yards just swimming 25-50 breathing every 3rd pull and trying to get my head where it needs to be and figure out what's up with my right arm when I breathe on the left (why does it go DOWN?). So, it turned into a slow, form-focused workout. But I did it. And we have another workout planned this week, and then a coached workout for next Sunday evening. |
