I have not seen any offical groups in Windsor, but I would be interested in joining some group training rides or runs. Nights or mornings? Anyone else interested?

I would be interested, but it would be difficult to be consistent untill closer to summer. Right now I swim at a nearby gyma and I do my runs right out my front door. Work and Aikido, and my local gym's running program will keep me from making many trips into the city to run or ride until summer.

I live about 30 minutes outside of Windsor and I'm not aware of any area triathlon clubs. I do most of my training on my own so I would be interested in some longer group rides in the county once the weather improves.

I'd be up for that, but I don't know where I'll be for training at that point. When I did my try-a-tri last year the bike was 11k, but my 20kph pace included the times for T1 and T2. Since I won't be on a full suspension mountain bike this year, I should be a bit faster.

That's a bit far for me. Maybe once or twice in the summer, to meet new people.

Have you checked out the Running Factory...don't know if they have a 'club' but they do alot of informal stuff (runs every Wed/Sun) and I think they do some more tri related stuff towards summer.  I know they have a tri training program, they run every summer, for the Windsor tri...where in Windsor are you...I am in Puce, if you want to meet periodically for run/rides...I am mostly running this year, but will ride 1-2x / wk, and run 3-5x..running windsor du and possibly belle river du (couldn't pay me to go into that water, beaches always closed all summer, than magically pass the e-choli test the week of the tri!!)..let me know..

I am actually out in Amherstburg. I'd love to do some group runs and rides, but I need to get my distances and paces up a bit first. Once summer gets here I have tonnes of time.

I agree and since you had the idea tabbs, you are the PRESIDENT. I would be happy to join a group workout. Maybe we can pick a run, bike, and swim day and alternale the locations.

I like this idea, and I would be willing to HELP coordinate events.  That being said, work is hell for the next 2 weeks, then I am traveling for most of July leading up to the Loaring Triathlon.

THAT being said, let me look at my schedule and throw out a few dates for a run or bike.

It might be usefult to know peoples average distances/paces/speeds just so we have a good idea of what to expect in these sessions.  Yes, they would be workouts, but in the BT spirit, good consideration has to be given to the slower people.

For me:

bike is usually 1:20:00 at a pace between 22 and 24 km/hr

long run is 8-10 Km at a pace of about 6min/km

Long swim duration 45-50 minutes at 2:00-2:30 per 100m

I would be very interested. Evening and weekends would be best.

The Leamington Sports Complex is a great place to workout....they have an indoor pool, tri-stationary bikes and running track. You would be able to do mini tri's all year round.

I am just a beginner. My goal this year was to establish a base line. Next year I want to focus on improving speed, especially running.

Here are my current speeds:

Swim 800 m in 15 min (in the pool)
Bike 25 km in 1 hour
Run 5km in 35 min
