Curious where most BTers lie in the political spectrum... I'm left, no doubt, but I usually can see both sides of the issues and when around people who are really left, I can swing to the right with the best of 'em.

But for the most part if all of Fox news and the current administration suddenly dissapeared into thin air this morning, I for one would have an extra-tasty Sapphire & Tonic tonight to celebrate.

Hardly news here but I am a conservative...BTW Bush is NOT a conservative. I am not a koolaid drinking repub but I dont think I have ever voted Dem. I used to be WAY into politics. A former girlfriends family was very wealthy and very well connected...I have had dinner with some political bigs and used to be invited to the Governers ball in Richmond...However that was long ago and now I dont care for politics that much.

I live (for the next month anyway) in Lorton.  Work is split between various client sites in Alexandria/Tyson's Corner/Reston/D.C.

Nope.  Next for me is the Diamond in the Rough in MD.  After that is a small sprint in WV, and that'll most likely be it until I get back from my little 12 month diversion.

I'd like to think we're all adults with skins thick enough for a little spirited debate.

Baseball1 - you're right, I know that Dubya doesn't represent true conservatism in the least... I'm actually conservative on a lot of issues (finance and hands-off government in the business world), middle of the road on others (defense, foreign affairs) and relatively liberal on others (social issues.)

The one thing I've found most reasonable (key word) dems and repubs can agree on is that Bush doesn't represent what they envisioned in a national leader.

voted ultra liberal. would probably be a socialist if I sat down and thought about stuff more specifically.

am usually pretty socially and fiscally liberal, but the issue that gets me all flumoxed right now is social security/health care. I don't see a way out.

speaking of no way out...

i take care of these poor kids every day... make me sick that a prez could so blindly get us into such a maelstrom with no clear exit strategy. sigh.
