Subject: Do I work out today?
I just stayed up all night writing a stupid paper. I turn it in at 12 and after that I'm done. I was really looking foreward to hitting the pool today, as I've been making amazing progress latley (went from maxing at 6x50's to swimming 3x100's and 1x1000 yesterday and having enough leftover to keep going). Just don't know how much the exhaustion will knock me down (once the caffeine wears off that is)

If you've had no sleep at all... take a nap first. Even a few hours would help a great deal.

but the pool is at school. I leave in an hour for class, turn in the paper and I'm already there. If I come home and sleep for a few hours, then pool will be closed by the time i wake up

I'd swim.  The exercise seems to help me burn off the caffeine.  I don't look at the clock or have any expectations of distance or speed.  Just zone out for 30 to an hour.

I think you should swim, I mean after all you are laying down when swimming.

haha you have no idea. We were limited to journal articles for sources, and had to turn in photocopies of them. Well last night at 7 when I sat down to write, I suddenly realized I didn't have all my photocoppies. No idea where they went. So I had to go BACK to the library, find 3 more sources, copy them and then read through them with a highlighter before starting on the paper. Started typing at 10, finished at 8 this morn. Such a pain in my ass

Go swim.  It will be good practice for the future when you are up all night because a kid is sick or you had to take your s/o or parent to the emergency room in the middle of the night and still go to work for 11 hours the next day.

Yep, I agree. Since you'll already be there... hit the pool. Just don't expect any PRs.

Oh... forgot about the time difference. You're probably in the pool now! Good Job!

If you are participating in the Dec. Swim Challenge, then no, don't. If you aren't, I'd hold it until I burst.

haha i'm not in the challenge. I just got back from my swim. Did 1000m, nothing special. The funny thing was, as I was leaving the pool I get a call from my friends. They're meeting in an hour to go run 5 mi and demanded I join. So looks like me dragging my tired *** to the pool is turning into a brick.

on a side note, even tho I've been awake for 27 hours and counting, that swim woke me up to the point that I'm nearly bouncing off the walls.

Just got back from my run. Looks like that swimming paid off. I set a PR! It turned out to be 6 miles instead and I managed it in 45min. Now it's time to eat and crawl in bed

You're awesome!! I took a red-eye flight home from the West Coast to the East Coast, with a layover, and there was NO WAY I was working out that day when I got home. I was exhausted, and I even managed an hour or two of sleep on the plane!
