Since the company I worked for bottled the water mainly for the bike I like to hear some pro's and con's about the actual bottle, did it fit your cage, was it too flimsy, how did the spout work, taste, etc. This may have been the first IM to use a municipal branded tap water for this type of event. I know its the first time we used it for a bike race. I want to make sure we are doing a good job in meeting the racers needs. If you liked it great if you didn't tell me why so next year we can improve. I know from talking to one of my fellow workers she said the bottle would colapse in the machine because of its size and was alittle difficult to bottle.

Think about this as you recover Ironfolks!

For me, it worked great! However, I never carried one in my bottle cages. I would grab one, pull the top open w/ my teeth and empty it into my aero drink bottle. The fact that it collapsed easy did make it easy to empty the water quickly, though.

Same here. Water tasted great and easily emptied into my aerobottle. I tossed the bottle immediately, so I'm not sure about it's fit in the cages.

I didn't see many in the street, so I'm guessing they fit pretty well.

Thanks!

They were just fine. I was worried they would fall out of my cage, but they didn't. I was pleasantly surprised. The water tasted fine as well. It was really nice to have the cold water out there!

The volunteers handing them out were amazing! I felt so bad for them being out there in that heat like that, holding stuff out for us. The kids that were out there were great too. I also loved the fact that when I stopped a volunteer would hold my bike for me. How wonderful of them! They were the best!

here comes the rain on the parade .  The bottles fit great into the rear cages, the only problem I had was when I emptied it into my aero bottle I squezzed to hard and the shape never returned so I was afraid it would fall out of the cage, but they never did, they moved around a bit, but actually stayed in just fine.

but I thought there was a odd taste to the water. I actually stopped putting it in my aero bottle since I thought that was causing it. but when I was drinking out of the bottle it was still there. *****I'll be the first to say that I wasn't feeling good on the bike and had a bad taste in my mouth from the swim so it's more likely that it wasn't the water bottles, since on the run I never noticed it.

I was really impressed with Louisville though, it's a great town that you call home

I thought they were perfect. Fit my cage well, water tasted great. I don't know how you could really improve it. Unless you filled them with beer, but I digress........

Tim, thanks for all the update on the river leading up to this event, it put me at ease and I'm sure a lot of others also.

The water was great and easy to dispense into my aerobottle.  I did have to re-pop the top a couple of times when I pushed it too hard into the sponge.  Maybe a twist-top (a la the Gatorade bottles) would be better.

They worked great in my cages. I never lost one, and I picked up a new one at every aid station. Also, I didn't realize how good cold water could be unitl I was about 80 miles into the bike.

No problems with the bottles.  I would pick one up at each aid station and dump it into my aero bottle.

water bottles didn't fit snug into the cages like bike water bottles and I was a little worried about them going over bumps...but the NEVER fell out!!!  Very impressed.

I had no issues with the water bottles and they stayed in the cages fine.

I would drink water out of a monkey's that day it was so hot (ok, I exaggerate) but seriously, the water tasted fine but not sure if I'm a good litmus test since monkey's and I get along.

im with everyone else, fit into the cages great, and even on that course i didnt have 1 single bottle fly out on me! thats impressive.

i like the a couple of others, when you squeezed the bottle, it didnt want to go back to its natural shape, maybe a little thicker, but the water came out great, fit fine, and tasted great! good job!

I only emptied the bottles into the aero drink, but they worked pretty well.  Water itself was fine for me.  They were easy to open, which was good.  Only thing I might have asked for was a slighly larger opening for a faster flow rate.  Had to squeeze hard several times to get the water out before hitting the end of the discard area.
