I wanted to sign up for this one, so I would have 4 for the series, but I'm working nightshift for 9 days in a row leading up to it! So I don't think I'll do that to myself.

If something changes at work, maybe I'll try and do it. If I were able to get in, and did decent, I think I could end the year in the top 10 for my AG in the series!

We'll see what happens. I didn't plan for it early enough to take some vacation time.

Probably racing too.  We'll have a big Queen City Tri Club, www.queencitytriclub.org, presence there.

I just finshed my first ever Tri, the Angel's Race at Tanglewood Park in Clemmons, NC today.

I plan on doing the Take Flight on Oct 18th as well.

Learned about this whole sport and "Sprint" tri's back in late September and started training this August 1st.

I finished 238th out of 247 men overall, I entered as a Master Clydesdale and came in 13th of 13 MC's .... but hey, I finished and wasn't DFL  !!! and just finishing my frst tri was my goal.  I'm gonna do the Take Flight - also just to get introduced to these and as a learning experience ... then this fall and winter will take (actually have) the time to train correctly and then really get into these events starting next spring.

My goall for now is to run the Pinehurst Olympic distance tri in September of next year, or maybe even the Duke HIM next September (that was also being ran today up in Durham).

Then again, I'm probably kinda crazy, have wishful thinking, and have never been accused of being the sharpest tool in the shed....

Unfortunately its the same day as the Lungstrong 15K race.  I have done this race every year for several years now (different sponsor but same race) and its my favorite local running race.

Too bad - this would have been a fun tri!

Never done a pool tri... perhaps this should be my first.
People aren't kidding when they say races around here sell out on Jan 1st!! I'll have to keep that in mind for next year.
The lung strong race does sound like fun too.
I'll have to flip a coin...

I plan on doing this race.  I'll sign up after my triathlon this weekend.  My back has decided to act up so that's why I'm waiting til after this weekend. My doctor wants to do an MRI and injections but, I don't think I need all that...so...if I can do okay this weekend, I'll sign up.

Waited to late to sign up, had planned to do this one, but it is now full. Look forward to reading a race report as this one is pretty close to the house, might have to try it next year.

I will be doing this one also.  It will be my first one ever, so I am anxious to get it under my belt.

I just want to finish and not look like a total boob in the process.

 See you then.

Rode the bike route this am.  A lot of folks are seeing this as a beginner race with the short pool swim. Just be sure and pre-ride the course. There are 2-3 reasonably tough, but short, hills.  Here's the link to the route.  http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/training/map.asp?routeid=70095

Was pretty windy this am and that seems to be a staple of any ride in the Lake Norman/Huntersville area.  Traffic wasn't bad and roads were decent.  A couple of roads are the annoying chip seal type but not many potholes.

So, none of it is actually in Skybrook but it is on the Highland Creek Parkway?

The run course seems to be in Skybrook but the bike course goes around the outside of Highland Creek, across Ridge Rd and then back thru Highland Creek. Eastfield and Ridge are the two highest traffic areas.

How did everyone like the race?  The couple that organized it are very dear friends of mine & I know they worked really hard to make everything great!  I know they would appreciate feedback for next year!!
