Champion 26509 Sydney | Subject: CSC Saxo-Bank Team Thread Hi Team CSC Saxo-Bank,
Welcome to the Tour De France Bike Challenge 2008.
This team is all about the 1-2-3 on the roads of France this year with 3 strong riders with the potential to make a big impact on the general classification.
Designated team leader will be last years 4th place overall, Carlos Sastre who is a talented climber in the mountains.
He will be aptly supported by the Schleck brothers, Frank and Andy. The older brother, Frank, already has a stage win at the Alpe D’Huez while younger brother Andy came second at his Grand Tour debut at the Giro D’Italia in 2007.
The team also includes Fabian Cancellara who won the yellow jersey at the beginning of the Tour last year and fought to hang on throughout the opening week. It also includes former Paris Roubaix winner and Australian hard man Stuart O’Grady.
On BT, your team line up for the challenge is: 1. CHR15 TREE 2. CubeFarmGopher 3. Jens 4. kaqphin 5. Mesteren 6. mrwrite 7. sesh 8. TexOma 9. willie05
Now you have found the team thread, introduce yourself to your team mates below with some information which could include name, goals or info on your current bike(s).
Reporting for the challenge over the next three weeks will take place in three blocks matching the Tour De France racing days. The dates are as follows: Week 1: 5th – 14th July Week 2: 15th – 21 July Week 3: 22 – 27 July
Your team has a tracking spreadsheet set up and active in google spreadsheet. To open the spreadsheet click on this link: http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=pfYL7DR_dx-B3FRijUL9Zfg&... />
To login to Google Docs: Username: btchallenge Password: challengeforum
You can update the spreadsheet at any time to track your own, and your teams progress. I will be grabbing each teams results to date and posting a challenge update that includes all of the teams progress and any interesting tid bits from the various team threads. This update will be posted at the end of the each reporting week listed above.
The winning team will be determined by the team with the highest percentage of goal achieved. No one can go over 100% of goal and if more than one team hits 100% then there is more than one winning team!
To remind everyone to post their updates, and I recommend that you nominate a team leader to help with reminding everyone to report in each week. But the job of inspiring and motivating your team mate really does rest with each individual so don’t forget to give everyone some regular encouragement here in the team thread and through inspires on training logs.
I will try to pop in regularly to see how your team is getting on. If there are any questions throughout the course of the challenge let me know, I will pop back in the next 24 hours with some additional information and rider profiles for your Tour De France team before the action kicks off on the roads of France. Happy Pedaling Cat |

I'll do the important, real intro tomorrow, but I just wanted to jump in and say "hey" to everyone. I'm doing the "Tour de Riverton (Utah)" tomorrow, er, today. It's a 25-miler, which is quite l-o-n-g for me (and bummer it wasn't a day later!). Look forward to racing and winning this sucker with y'all! Edited by mrwrite 2008-07-04 12:54 AM |

So you know... this team was victorious last year, so we will have to definatley all make it to Paris this time around! I promise to introduce myself properly at some point... even if most of you (all of yuo?) already know me! Edited by kaqphin 2008-07-04 12:59 AM |

If I up my mileage or days will that help our team? Or do I just need to hit 100 percent of my goal -- regardless of what it is -- to help us bring home the yellow jerseys!?! Yup - you just need to hit 100% of your goal... if you get into the challenge nad realise yuor goal is too small then by all means increase it - i mean it is meant to be a challenge after all! |

Jens "Voigt" Christensen here. I hit my goal last year and I'll do it this year too. Bring it on. I also noticed we are a very international team with 2 Danes, the Super Cat and Mr. Chris "I did Paris Roubaix" T. That's bound to give us the edge. |

Expert 1024 | Subject: RE: CSC Saxo-Bank Team Thread Hello teammates. I'm happy to be on what will soon be the 2 time TdF Challenge Winning Team. It is a privilege to be here. We kicked butt last year and I expect to do the same again this year. I will probably only do one challenge this year, but I can't imagine not doing this one. Making your challenge goal is the minimum. There will be several teams that do that. The winning team will have to go further and get to 100% of their goal sooner. So ride hard or the legendary BT Bike Monster will hunt you down and flatten your bike tires. Failure is not an option. Ride long and ride far. |

Expert 856 Pittsburgh | Subject: RE: CSC Saxo-Bank Team Thread Hey Everyone! I'm Bob, and I'm glad to see Cat included me on a winning team! I asked to be on CSC because I just got a Cervelo P2SL, rode it once, then on my 2nd time on the bike did an Olympic on it this past Sunday! Good way to break it in! LOL! I have another race coming up in 2 weeks. Now I have to check out for about a week - we're heading on holiday tomorrow for a week to the beach, and I'm not sure if I'll have a connection or not. The bike is coming with me, so I should be able to get plenty of riding in, and I'll post my results next Sunday or Monday! Have a great week - and good luck in the Prologue! |
