Pro 15655 | Subject: Roger Stone Anyone care to tell me why Stone deserves 9 years in prison? I mean, Bill Clinton lied to Congress DURING AN IMPEACHMENT HEARING and served not a single day. Just asking for a friend, of course, because I think all Dems have pure and perfect motives. Edited by Left Brain 2020-02-12 8:36 PM |

Champion 10157 Alabama | Subject: RE: Roger Stone Oh no! This is the end of democracy. This is the end of the rule of law. The DOJ is I’m the tank for Trump. Barr needs to be impeached! Maybe Trump should be impeached over this? This is the over the top draconian predictions of the talking heads in the media. How dare Trump opine on sentencing? LOL. |

DC | Subject: RE: Roger Stone The whole, "what about when democrat x did y"... classic distractor. I agree, Clinton should have been impeached. But he's not accounting for his misdeeds... should that leave everyone else off the hook forever? AG Barr shouldn't be involved. At the very least for optics. |

I'll agree it's a bad look......but I was already sick and tired of worrying about how things look. Besides, and I guess they will never learn, Trump just gave the Dems another avenue to look stupid with their fake righteous indignation. Champion 10157 Alabama | Subject: RE: Roger Stone This is gonna get uglier before it gets better. It’s now coming out that the head jurist in the Roger Stone case was a liberal activists and posted about Stone before they convicted. Another juror worked for Obama in some capacity. Then there is the Durham inventions into the FISA abuse. I’m no lawyer but I think he might have grounds for an appeal. Keep in mind he was being investigated for connections to the Clinton email hacking. Despite the pre-dawn SWAT raid on his home they found no evidence that he did anything wrong wrt the emails. So they nailed him on perjury and obstruction and witness tampering - even though the witness denies he was influenced by Stone. I said when I first saw this guy, this is no James Bond! This was more like the case of Who Framed Roger Rabbit? The 4 prosecutors resigned? Hmmm. And this before the Judge sentenced him? Resign over guidelines? Looks like they were making a political statement. Yet another black eye for DOJ He also might appeal under the “fruit from a poison tree” doctrine if Durham finds Mueller and the FBI broke the law initiating their investigation. Once again I think many in the media will have egg on their collective faces when all is said and done. |

Champion 10157 Alabama | Subject: RE: Roger Stone One more thought. People are saying Trump should not have weighed in. I read somewhere that the guidelines were already under review at the DOJ before Trump said anything. It would not surprise me if Trump just pardons Stone. If not today, then after the election. |

Pro 15655 | Subject: RE: Roger Stone Well, I see no point in him weighing in, and it's actually the part about President Trump that I wish he would tone down. However, draining the swamp is part of what he ran on, and it's a big reason he was elected. He is certainly exposing the underground filth of Washington. I think it's part of his strategy to let the opposition jump off a cliff whenever he does open his mouth (in a way I would rather he didn't). It's hard to argue with the results......he kicks their arse every. single. time. |

Pardoning him is fine as it's his constitutional right to. But weighing in... this seems to take away from the/a principle that we are a nation of laws not men. |

Except, ironically in light of your comment and, as we have seen, his words are not what has kept him out of trouble, the rule of law is. As I said, I wish he would shut up quite a bit....but the truth is that it's helped him because the opposition takes the bait every time. This is no different, he has broken no laws, nor has the AG. You don't "feel" that it's right, and I understand that......but feelings have no place with this administration.....and that's not necessarily a bad thing IMO. He has freedom of speech just like the rest of us. I think he like to stir things up like an Evirude in a sesspool. He has no filter between his head and his mouth. It’s what drives everyone (left and right) crazy. Obama weighed in on Trevon Martin, Ferguson and other cases. Trump has a big mouth and is not afraid to use it. I think reasonable people agree 9 years for a 67 yo would be excessive - Trump just said what most people think. |

Champion 10157 Alabama | Subject: RE: Roger Stone Judge gives Stone 40 months. Oh course the motion for new trial still needs to be ruled on. I agree he should go to jail but think this is excessive. He is a nut with a big mouth and that doesn’t warrant 40 months IMO. This is far from over. What I have learned is never talk to the FBI or Congress. I would simply use my second amendment right and shoot my way out ....uh....yeah, I mean my 5th amendment right. :-) |

Pro 15655 | Subject: RE: Roger Stone The President needs to pardon him. This entire Russian collusion investigation is a joke. The jury foreman on the Stone case is the biggest criminal in this deal. The President has been acquitted......now finish it by tearing apart every aspect of this Democrat joke of a partisan attempt to remove the sitting President with ZERO evidence of any wrong doing. I'm sick of all of it. Wipe it out. Give the Democrats exactly what they deserve for putting the country through 3 years of bullchit. Edited by Left Brain 2020-02-20 1:00 PM |
