Thanks guys and gals. Everyone else - come on find some BT friends and put a team together. Ride your bike and see if you can do it. There is no harm in trying!!! Come on you know you want to. Give me some motivation besides the girls that are being sold as slaves around the world. More on that at our Freedom Tour blog where you can sign up to follow us starting Friday morning as we leave Mobile, AL. I just hope my dream from last night does not happen because we had to re-route because the Germans were attacking Mobile Harbor. Strange way to dream of a bike ride and no offense to any Germans - it was an uncontrolled dream I promise Dreams are strange that way. For tonight, maybe your dream will be that you're riding up Mt. Washington. C'mon. You know you want to. |

Just so you understand what you are getting yourself into - I start a bike tour June 4th out of Mobile, AL and will be riding close to 1500 miles in June alone. Here is the link so you can see the logistics: http://freedomtour.opwc.org/ I was contemplating a fund raising aspect to it but decided against that. I won't be able to run the challenge because I have logistics I have to clear up but I will be inputting my mileage in the thread whenever I have computer access. So are you up to the challenge????? I'm still trying to figure out a way to tie this ^^^ to the June Challenge. So far, all I have is a title: "Bill takes on the World." Where Bill is, well, you. And the world is everyone else. Now, all someone needs to do is come up with the details. You'll be riding, of course. But I need a way to tally up what other people are doing for the June Challenge (and the challenge goals can be anything: bike, run, swim, water jog, or based in miles, km, hours, etc.) Got any suggestions on the logistics of it all? |

Hmmm - how about the Ironman way 26.2 miles running = 112 miles biking = 2.4 miles swimming That is the only way I have to gauge it - what do you think about that??? So when someone swims 2.4 (not at one session) miles they get credit for 112 miles. Same for every 26.2 miles of running. Thoughts? That way you could still have teams of 5 or so and see how it works out. That would work for people who log distance but what about people who log in terms of time? Or sessions? |

Time: Running 1 hour = 11 miles Biking 1 hour = 15 miles Swimming 1 hour = 1 mile Sessions = That is a tough one - LOL Let me think on that Well they could go day for day on my sessions. The sessions people could challenge me solo and you could do teams with time or distance people! Running 1 hour = 11 miles might be a little high. That's about a 5 1/2 minute mile. I would suggest more along the line of 6-7 mph (10-9 min mile). |

Champion 23360 Taser-World | Subject: RE: June Challenge Suggestion Eh. I just decided that you are "Team Bill," and it's you versus "Team 1" and "Team 2." In other words, you are your own challenge team. LOL (Feel free to post pad on either, or both, team threads, whenever you have time. ) I won't make a spreadsheet for you though. You can just report your progress to us. Good luck with your tour! Edited by D001 2010-05-31 8:14 PM |
