What I mean by that is the only way you couldn't see the pod is if it was in-line with the crank arm. If that's the case, it wouldn't read the transmission, if I understand correctly. Am I misunderstanding something here? Either way, it doesn't affect me (yet). I'm a speedplay kind of guy and am about ready to pull the trigger on a quarq...that said, have you had a chance to review the new SRAM Red quarq yet? Kevin |

The more I look at it, the more I am convinced that there isn't a pod on the non-drive side (at least). The reason I say this is that the pod has a rubber piece that is the connector that actually wraps around the crank arm and "inserts" into the hole on the inside of the crank arm. |

The more I look at this the more I am seeing only the pedal, not the protruding power measurement component. Hmmm. |

Tom D agreed with me without some long convoluted story about when he was in Vietnam on a training ride... J/K Tom...most of my information I got from watching videos on dcrainmaker's site...Ray's got some vid's from the chief of the product line outlining most of the information...this lead me to my "remarkable" discovery. I, like you, think all we are seeing is the actual pedal body...sure, it's probably got the spindle and such with it, just not the transmitter...it may actually be a functioning unit however with no way to transmit the data right now (at least on that bike).
