Subject: just bought race wheels, now what do i need for them
Ok, I'm not a gear head at all. I just got a promotion at work and decided to buy myself something nice. I was on Ebay and found a set of new zipp clincher 650c wheels and bought them.
They just arrived and it dawned on me, i need other stuff. They came with skewers, but nothing else.
i know i need tubes, should i get the ones with 80mm valves?
I have gator skin tires, will those work? And a casette, any recommendations?

Someone give me the run down of what I need and when i get set up I'll post some bike porn.

Thanks.

Enjoy the wheels!

As far as your questions:

Tubes - get latex tubes as they are supposed to be faster than butyl tubes; you will need either tubes with a long stem or valve extenders (assuming you have 404's or deeper).

Tires - I would get a good set of tires (you can check a list of tires here); IMO it's hard to go wrong with the Pro Race 2

ETA - Cassette - you can change your cassette back and forth between your training and your race wheels (provided you have the right tools) or you can get an new cassette.  If you get a new cassette, I would get one that is different than the one you have (so if you have a 12-25, you could get a 12-23) - just gives you more options for different terrain.
