Subject: Set up for Areo Bars on Road bike?
I am relatively new to the tri sport and have signed myself up for a 1/2 ironman. From what I have been told I need aero bars. My questions are what is the difference between the small aero bars and the regular sized bars? Is one better than the other on a road bike?

Also, after making the decision on which type of bars, what about the setup? Do I leave the road bike fit the way it is and try to adjust the aero bars so I have the 90 degree angle or do I completely change the setup of the bike? If I am supposed to change the setup, what should it be so I get this dialed in at home.

Also, will I be able to complete a full ironman with a road bike and aero bars? Is this common setup?
Thanks
Cool

my suggestion in just readin this post would be for you to visit your LBS and fit and try options.

Preference is going to be a factor here. Educate yourself on the feel of each and validate the "need" of the option.

You may not even like aerobars...who knows.
