I need some help/advice. About 2 weeks ago, I started developing a little irritation on the inside of my right thigh (as far up as you can go) and little red but no big deal. I did a long bike ride after that and I noticed it was more sore and irritated. It's right where my thigh hits the side of the saddle on the down-stroke. Figured I just irritated it even more and started treating it with neosporin and various types of diaper rash creams. It didn't seem to get any better. Last night, I did a short 15 ride on the rollers just to see how it would feel, very uncomfortable after about 15 minutes.

I'm pretty sure now it is jock itch as it is becoming itchy. There is a patch of red, tender skin about the size of a silver dollar. I'm treating it with a anit-fungal right now but the problem is I have a 70.3 this Sunday. I've gotten JI before and it usually goes away after a few days of treatment.

The weird thing is that the spot is exactly where my saddle rubs, could the irritation have led to JI or vice-versa? I altered my riding position a little a month or so ago and I think this may be a contributing factor.

Any ideas or suggestions of how to treat it or at least manage it for my race? What about saddle adjustments? I will make an appt with my doctor next week regardless. Thanks guys.

Ok, here's the deal just to close this out...It was good old fashioned jock itch. Cleaning regularly and cream cleared it right up. I broke the 1st law of triathlon, I tried something in a race I didn't try in practice. That's right, I put on a new seat on Friday and raced on Sunday. LOVE that seat. It is spectacular, no rubbing, no nothing.
