Subject: Water running technique?

I mentioned in another thread I am injured so can only swim and water run at the moment. I found a good water running training plan http://www.pfitzinger.com/labreports/9wkH2O.htmbut am unsure of technique to use.

Anyone got tips / experience of water running as a replacement for real running?

Thanks

I keep it real simple.  After my swim, I grab a couple of swim noodles, stick one under each arm and go for however long I want.  Try to keep your stride similar as best you can.  Do some intervals to mix things up a bit. You can buy a flotation vest if you want to blow some more money on the sport.  I always have a water shirt or shorty wetsuit on depending on water temps, so I can still move my arms back and forth as I would if running without the swim noodles rubbing any.
