Subject: RE: How many endurolytes?First things first ... nutrition is a highly personal thing. How your body reacts to one thing will vary widely from another. In other words, your results may vary. Void where prohibited. Sales tax may apply. That said, I believe that there is a general misconception about the amount of electrolytes that need to be taken. While the current trend of prevailing thought is that "less is more", I disagree. I significantly increased my electrolyte intake at the urging of a friend and found immediate performance results - especially on the transition runs. The problem with Endurolytes for me is that they contain so little electrolytes per tablet. For example, in addition to other beneficial minerals Endurolytes contains 40 mg of sodium/tab ... wtf? You can probably rip open a free salt packet from McDonalds and get more. I use Salt Stick capsule as they contain 215mg of sodium as well as the other beneficial minerals (including vitamin D ). I also use the Salt Stick dispenser that fits directly into my aerobars so that all you have to do is twist it in order to have a capsule poke out (almost as if it were a Pez dispenser ). Try upping your sodium intake starting with 500 mg sodium/hour and then 100 mg/hour on a separate day to see how your body reacts. Hopefully it reacts well as it means that you have found the "free endurance" I discovered doing the same. |
