Subject: RE: Off Season Exerciseskaiserman19 - 2009-09-14 10:57 AM Now that the off season is right around the corner for me. I have started thinking of my off season workouts. I have no desire to train of a mary or half
#1 goal improve my run dramically #2 more power on the bike
And I am excited to cross train a little bit, go back to some other types of cardio that I have put off due to tri training. I have been researching what types of cardio that can help with tri specific disciplines. So far, it seems C2 rower helps with the bike. What other types of cardio do you all do in the off season besides the normal s/b/r?
Also does the stair master, the one that actually rotates stairs, and you have to actually climb the actually steps, is that a exercise that could help me improve my strength in other disciplines?
Thanks in advance for the help. #1 run more; sometimes easy, others hard, others long, just run more. Devote a run specific focus (i.e. 6 weeks ) building to 5+ runs x week. Also consider adding some specific strenght training like drills and hills. #2 work on your power threshold; do sets ranging from your best 20 to 60 min max power 2+ x week. when possible ride long and/or midle distance tempo BTW, nothing is going to help you more than specific training. You can do other stuff to make training a bit variable and less monotonous but if you want ot become a better cyclist then ride. Strenght for endurance sports is not very important power is.
