More info from Alex:
ESR Ride info:
The parking lot were we meet is becoming quite busy with cyclists meeting for rides. I’ve had a few emails about riders getting caught up in some race training groups and vice versa. Please note that the ESR rides leave from the Zehrs parking lot near Tecumseh BBQ, by the entrance close to the Manning road and Tecumseh road corner. (the same spot as always). If you see a group leaving from The Second Cup or from The Bicycle Shop or from the back corner of Zehrs these aren’t the ESR rides. Although we all get along, smile, wave, support and welcome each other, please understand the rules of a groups ride before you join. Some rides are drop and very aggressive, some require a membership or invite, and some are for people who only drag their rusted 1989 Supercycle out once a year for a 5 km slow ride. The point is if you see a group pulling out early, from a different location, it may not be the ESR ride that you are expecting.
ESR rides:
Decaf rides are a social 25 to 30 kph ride. Great for occasional riders, recovery, or touring riders.
Coffee rides are faster, speeds always over 30 kph with a tight “rotating” pack. Some distance rides and sprinting can be expected.
Espresso rides are not for the faint of heart. Fast and tight with speed being the main goal. This is not for an inexperienced rider.
Ride safe and have fun no matter who you go with.
As always if you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
See you out there…
Alex
