Sunny
Total Time = 1h 40m 35s
Overall Rank = 198/423
Age Group = 25-29
Age Group Rank = 36/69
Pre-race routine:

I didn't have time to pre register on Saturday so I did a lot of running around. Tried to get to the course as early as possible and beat most crowds
Event warmup:

Biked back to my car to put air in my tires...swam a couple laps in the lake
Swim
  • 09m 43s
  • 400 yards
  • 02m 26s / 100 yards
Comments:

I had a great swim! I usually freak out a little in the open water...but today I got my breathing worked well in the crowd. I swam the entire way and was very happy with my performance!
What would you do differently?:

More practice - longer swims
Transition 1
  • 03m 6s
Comments:

I had a good T1 everything went very smoothly.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing - it was a great transition
Bike
  • 52m 39s
  • 16 miles
  • 18.23 mile/hr
Comments:

I had a very good bike today. It was quick. The course was slightly hilly but not too bad. I beleive the hill work I did helped pay off.
What would you do differently?:

Again simply more practice - especially being comfortable with speed and cornering.
Transition 2
  • 02m 48s
Comments:

Again another transition I was very happy with.
What would you do differently?:

Make sure I don't get any rocks in my shoes!
Run
  • 32m 17s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 10m 25s  min/mile
Comments:

I had a tough run. It was very hot but it was mostly just a lack of training. I allowed myself to walk to hills and took advantage of all water stations and sprinklers!
What would you do differently?:

Practice, RUN, Practice! (Hills too!)
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around, grapped some gatorade and streched

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of training as of late

Event comments:

It was a great race. Well organized considering the event more than doubled in size from last year. I was happy and it was a PR even with my lack of training!

Good job on setting a PR - especially without training as much as you would've liked! Very impressive!
