Total Time = 2h 04m 58s
Overall Rank = /
Age Group = 35-39
Age Group Rank = 0/
Pre-race routine:

Left home at 3:00 to get there and snooze for a few hours.
Event warmup:

Stretched a bit and had a chance to warm up in the water. Was feeling very comfortable and refreshed.
Swim
  • 18m 14s
  • 880 yards
  • 02m 04s / 100 yards
Comments:

Overall, I'm happy with my swim performance this time. Despite the water being a bit hot for me again, I managed to keep my cool with breathing as well as a constant, uninterrupted rythm (unlike the 1st time).
I'm pretty disappointed with the "official" time (25min??). Without looking at my stop watch, I knew I did much better (18:14 as oppossed to 25min the 1st time), that's what I'm going with. (the first time I did this race they couldn't even give me a time for the water & T1, so why should I trust their system over my Polar? BTW-they used that stupid CAD timing system again)
What would you do differently?:

1) I would've started more in the middle and not so much on the outside.
2) I would've kept a safe distance from the bouy...... :)
Transition 1
  • 03m 5s
Comments:

The transition are was moved to a higher and further lot that looked like the surface of a volcano (very rocky). My performance on T1 was as expected and I was more prepared. Getting there early is a perfect way to start your day on any race. I layed everything out and left pleny of water to drink there as well as the extra towel.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing I was happy with my T1 performance.
Bike
  • 01m 5s
  • 16 miles
  • 886.15 mile/hr
Comments:

Felt stronger and more comfortable this time (as opposed to July?). Too bad there were no times in the first round to compare but I'm confident I did better here too. I did start with a higher cadence and finished the same to go easy on the legs. Yes, the course was still as hard as the first time but not such a killer. Didn't ride with feet on top of shoes cause of the terrible terrain at T2.
What would you do differently?:

I'm going to concentrate on hill type work outs. It can only help and give me more stength on flat races.
Transition 2
  • 02m
Comments:

Drank water and made sure to go as smooth as possible.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing. I'm happy with T2. Maybe time will teach me to see it differently.
Run
  • 32m 5s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 10m 21s  min/mile
Comments:

Started off nice and slow and walked whenever my HR went to about 168. Not until the return did my HR stabalize enough for me to stay running comfortably.
What would you do differently?:

Could not do much more than I did due to injuries. I am happy that physical therapy is helping a lot. Hope to be in great shape for next year.
Post race
Warm down:

Did some stretching but could not concentrate for that (don't know why).

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of training due to injuries

Event comments:

Overall, I'm happy with my performance because I learned a lot, not only from the first round of this race but from other races as well and applied what I learned. I was more in control and in (slightly), better shape. I think control is what makes me happier about my performance this time. As time passes, I'll know more and will make next year speed my area of concentration.

Hey man,

Nice job on your race.  It sounds like you stuck to your plan very well.  Sorry you did not do better than last time since that was your goal.  But it's good to hear your 'control' was better.  That is so important in the longer distances.  The injury certainly could not have helped, either.  Good job,  anyways
