Swim
Comments: Decent swim for me. Water felt a lot colder than 80 degrees, damn. What would you do differently?: Not much. Did have to empty goggles once, just can't seem to find the perfect pair. Transition 1
Comments: My transition times have been pretty slow this year, at least T1. Definitely going to have to work on that for next year. Bike
Comments: Overall I had a strong bike. I have been putting in some nice miles and efforts in IM training, and it paid off today. I saw after the turnaround that I had about a 4 minute lead over the next closest of the four guys that I train with and that are doing Beach2Battleship with me in October, so I just tried to hold on. Also knew I was sitting in around 4-6 place for the second half of the bike. Transition 2
Run
Comments: Again, saw that I was somewhere in the top six (after the eventual second place overall went flying past me at mile one) and that I had a nice lead on my training partners. Felt really good on this run. Stride felt quick and strong, breathing was deep and full and mentally I was locked into the race and pace, and not how much further I had to go. Post race
Warm down: Waited for my training partners to cross, hung out, ate pizza. Last updated: 2011-08-15 12:00 AM

Overall Rank = 5/78

Age Group Rank = 1/11
Cold and wet, with a short lightning delay. Rain finally stopped around 8 and we were in the water ten minutes later ready to start.
Not much, other than trying not to freeze. It was a non- wetsuit swim, so no wetsuit meant I was freezing in the cold, wet weather in just my one piece 3Disciplines tri uniform.
