Subject: RE: Anyone have a MIDI keyboard for their Mac?I have a very similar midi keyboard and although I don't have a Mac the functions are the same. I enjoyed using it, but for learning I don't think it's the best. I know nothing about piano or chord voicings or whatever they call it so I had problems using mine. If you are looking for something for Nola to learn on you might try this: http://www.casio.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=products.detail&catalog=Music%20Instruments§ion=Lighted%20Keyboards&product=LK%2D45 It's the Casio LK-45. The keys light up to let you know which keys to hit. If I had it to do over again I would probably get this or a similar model. It has the MIDI ins and outs (which is all I really needed at the time and can be used on its own as well. IMO the best bang for your buck. I couldn't really recommend anything as far as software, but I'm sure there is some good basic stuff out there. |
