Subject: RE: Please tell me about EMS and TENSHi, your chiro should be able to tell you some info about EMS and TENS. EMS in theory is supposedly able to build muscle without requiring you to work out. The theory doesn't stand up in practice results as far as I know. It induces muscle contraction and so it is used for rehabilitation. TENS tends to be more analgesic in effect so more relaxing. Better to relax the muscles. If you have some recurring problems in your low back that involve muscle spasm I don't think you'd want to use EMS to alleviate any discomfort. It might actually aggravate your issues. As for Dr Ho - I know nothing of the man but I have had good results with his TENS unit. If you do buy one of his make sure you get one with 4 electrodes rather than two. (I always prefer to surround the area you're focusing on). Edited by wenceslasz 2013-01-06 10:34 PM
