Subject: Somebody died on the way to the race I did Sunday

My wife and I did a local sprint race this Sunday and they sent out a note yesterday that one of the participants didn't make it to the race.  He was killed in a car accident on the way there Sunday morning.

Yikes is all I can say.  I didn't know the guy because he was from a rural part of SE Nebraska, but it still hits close to home.

He was a 43 year old father of 2.

That is a terribly tragic story. My heart breaks for his wife and kids.

Sounds like maybe the other driver fell asleep at the wheel? My husband and I witnessed a driver in front of us fall asleep at the wheel, cross over the line, veer off the road and crash into a concrete culvert. The driver was trapped in the car but alive. This was many many years ago.

Sorry, I'm sure my story is not helping. It just brought back a vivid memory.

I'm going to let you in on how to get faster by doing nothing. Well, not exactly nothing, but you won't have to raise your heart rate, put out 300 watts, or really even break a sweat.

I quickly browsed an article in Men's Health that talked about doing a triathlon, and how it wasn't really that hard. With a "tsk!" I quickly turned the page while thinking, "Yeah, right!"
