Subject: Bucket List KickerJerri here.
For the last couple of years I've been lucky enough to kick a couple of items on my bucket list, so decided to take on a new one for 2015. I've done 5 sprints over the last 7 years and decided now was the time for my Tri Bucket List of a half ironman.
I'm two months into training (have 10 left to go ) and pleased with the progress but still a little terrified of the race. We just hit the rainy season here in Oregon, so trying to figure out how to maneuver around my work schedule, darkness and snippets of sunshine so I don't end up with mind numbing indoor workouts (being outside is a huge part of the training motivator ).
I've already hit a couple of personal best milestones (I had trained up to an olympic but did not do the race about 5 years ago ). My only goal is completion. I was never an athlete in my younger years, but I was a swimmer and a lifeguard and I've always loved riding my bike. The run doesn't come easy, but it gets easier and faster the more I do it. Go figure.
I've hired a coach for the workouts, support and motivation. It is proving to be a wise investment.
I'm on this forum to seek out answers for answers to questions I cannot figure out. I've already found a couple of threads that are helpful. I don't have a ton to offer in return unless you need dog training or advice on managing employees-not related of course.
