Subject: bike ride near Gatlinburg
Good Morning all
I am going to be in the Pigeon Forge area in a few weeks and am taking a bike with me. The ride from the NC boarder into Gaitlinburg looks like fun, but too crowded. Any suggestions for rides in the area that are a little safer?
Thanks
Joe

I know people that have taken U.S. 441 from the Sugarlands visitor center up to Newfound Gap but that is a fairly busy road.  There's also a 7 mile spur from Newfound Gap that goes up to Clingman's dome.  It gets pretty chilly up there...especially this time of year.  You wouldn't have a problem going up but you would freeze your tail coming down.  I camp & fly fish over there twice a year...haven't brought my bike yet.
