I hit the road at 5:45AM this morning for 10K run. Today's scheduled run was for 45 minutes with 8x30" surges randomly throughout the run. Well, 2 miles in I wasn't feeling like doing any random speed work. Four miles in wasn't any better and I started to drop pace by mile 5. It is starting to get really warm in the mornings and every year when things start to warm up my training runs that have been fairly consistent in pace all year start to slow way down and I start to want to walk late in the run. So not a great work out today but I did get the miles in. I am supposed to do a Virtual Quarter Marathon (10.5km) on Saturday. I better take an ice pack and leave an hour earlier for than. Ha..ha..ha.
woke up to a t-storm washout here today so went to the gym and did a 25 minute exercise warm up and then 4.5 miles of intervals on the treadmill. Will head back there this afternoon for a leg and core workout.
