Posting Trail

I'm not sure if this is already possible or not but thought I would throw it out there.

I know that when we post to a forum we have the option to get the updates or not in our control panel.  In general I want to be informed about updates on certain threads but sometimes I just want to post and be done without clogging up my email.

Is there anyway to create a button on a thread basis where it could default to the update or pick the option not to be updated on a particular thread?

Just a thought!
