Hey Stef,

Congrats on Steelhead!!

Dave and I are hoping to do Bull Dog. This is actually one of my favorite races. Dave is hoping to do Goderich in a couple of weeks too. He's trying to find someone to go up with him, I have to work that weekend.

Yeah. That really wasn't funny.  Good thing my computer is slow and it didn't even get started before I could close the window.  You'll pay for that funny man....

Hey Steff,

I am going to be doing the Rondeau Race. Not sure if I am going to be doing the Tri-a-tri or if I am going to try my first sprint. Well have to see how Windsor goes and even then I might still chicken out.

Hey Steph - we have yet to meet but I think, based on some of your avatar pics, that I almost hit you with my car last week when you were out for a run

Rondeau is a great venue with a nicely shaded run as well as the bike being well-shaded - nice family atmosphere. I ust love Rondeau, so I'm partial.

I've been nursing injuries this entire season and haven't raced once (and so lost a ton of $ in pre-paid race fees) - with only what - 3 weeks away - it's questionable. Then there's that spare tire around my middle because of all the inactivity R/T being laid up that I have to contend with - if I tow the line I'll be leaving the race gear at home so I don't look the Fred -

I might just volunteer this year - Steph: who did you contact to volunteer, Rob?

Hey! Long time no talk!!! *smile*  I didn't flip you off did I?  I get pretty belligerent out there... *sigh*

I'll check and see - my nephews swim Pool Sharks - so that's my connection - but I'll pm you with info later today.

I'm doing the Sprint on Sunday.

Has anyone done this race in the past?  How is the swim.......is it in a deep start or is there running?  Any hills?

Stef, I will keep an eye out for ya on the race!

I did this one years ago as a team.  I was the swimmer - the swim course was really shallow that year - but I don't think that will be the case this year.  I can't remember if we started in the water or not - but I know I didn't think it was 750m.

The bike course is flat and FAST.  It's all on park roads and sheltered from the wind.

The run course (when I did it) was part trail-run and mostly shaded.  Flat and fast.

No hills to be found on this course anywhere.

I would love to do the Rondeau Tri- but unfortunately no way of getting there. Sounds great though. Maybe next year.

Cool!!  I'm not racing either.  I wish-washed about it and decided I didn't want it badly enough.  So I'll be helping with registration on Saturday morning and then riding home from Rondeau.

Hey Stef, me and Janet are biking out to Rondeau at around 6:30 Sunday morning (we take the long way round) going to watch the race then bike back.  We should be able to get in about 75 miles.

Tony - Thanks!! But I think I'll take a pass on that one.  It's my b-day tomorrow - so I'll probably do a swim - and maybe a shorter ride so as to maximize my afternoon drinking time! *laughing*

Are you guys still swimming OW in the evenings?

What great race!!!!

I am putting the Rondeau Bulldog Race on my Calendar for next year for sure.
All the volunteers were so helpful and the event was very well planned.

Water was way to cold but would do it again for sure.

Congrats David!!

I agree - the water there has been cold all summer.  Some days are warmer than others - but for the most part it's been really chilly!

I'm glad you had a great day - I was working the registration table on the day-of registration side!
