which do you think is most likely and/or which freaks you out the most. from here:

http://www.livescience.com/forcesofnature/top10_naturaldisasterthre...

and just to be picky - #1 is total destruction of the earth. doesn't that transcend 'disaster'? by definition, it seems that this would be an event that would be awful, but one which would be awful because of the RESULT. if we're all gone like so much space dust, there is no perceivable result (since there is no one there to perceive it). sort of if a tree falls in the woods....

dis·as·ter [di-zas-ter, -zah-ster] –noun
1. a calamitous event, esp. one occurring suddenly and causing great loss of life, damage, or hardship, as a flood, airplane crash, or business failure.

I think the asteroid would be really freaky - like we know it was coming and couldn't do anything about it - not even Bruce Willis!

That's what supposidly killed off the dinosaurs and affected the whole earth.

How about a significant New Madras fault quake? Or a plague of Sasquatches?

don't knock the big man of the woods, jim! his time will come.

speaking of which, have you seen the tenacious d movie yet? there's an awesome trippy sas scene. here's one from the show they used to have:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ig_2k9aDhpE

There were some scientists
Tryin' to figure out the sasquatch riddle
Then they figured out it was a missing link

"In search of sasquatch" - That was a kick red bike "In search of.."
With Leonard nimoy kicking out the jams Hauwww

He captured imaginations of people all around the globe
His name was sasquatch so I am told

His legend's ancient in the ancient scribe
Of the Indian tribe (apache tribe)

Scientists have proven that the sasquatch he is real
Take a look at the plaster cast of his foot now you know he's real
Listen real close to the audio tape not human now you know he's real
Couldn't be a man in gorilla suit so fuckin' way now you know he's real
Real real real-real real real really-real real

Dischordant solo with overpoering drums

KJ: Don't take this personally, cause it's not about your playing
JB: No Dude, your drumming is kick-red bike. It's just that "the D" it's always just been me and KJ
KJ: And we're just not comfortable beeing a power trio. I hope there'e no hard feelings

(Brief semi-classical guitar interlude)

(Sung)
JB: Sasquatch (KJ: Sasquatch)
Both: We know your legend's real
JB: Sasquatch (KJ: Sasquatch)
Both: We know your love is real
JB: Sasq-oh-uh-eww-ahh-atch (KJ: Sasquatch)

Both: You and Tenacious D... are... real (Really stretch "real")

(Applause)

Sasquatch: Tell Tenacious D "They were kick-red bike"
Guy: And who should I tell them said that
Sasquatch: Tell them it was Sasqua- Tell them it was a friend.
Guy: OK

(Audience din)
Classical music plays serenely over sasquatch's walking and moaning
JB: Hey (Really stretched)
Classical music abruptly ends

Sasquatch: You know what... you better tell them it was Sasquatch. They won't know what friend you're talking about.
Guy: Ok, Sure.
Sasquatch: See ya.

I have to go with the Yellowstone Super Earthquake/Volcano. Living 51 miles north of Yellowstone National Park, I will be the first to know when this happens. Unfortunately, I will also be the last to tell

When all the hype came out about this it really freaked my girls out. I figure at least we will go fast...and all together. (yikes)
