August Bike Rides

If you can stand the heat, this is a very nice ride.  The terrain is rolling (similar to Chicken Pike at Lebanon) but there are also some steep hills that will really sap the strength out of your legs.

The course this year avoids some of the rougher roads that created some complaints on last years route.

I'll be there this year, but will be supporting the ride running SAG.

Its a great ride.  Right now, I am out, my son is running his first 5K on the same day and I am gonna run with him!!   

I'm a little new to the group ride thing.  Do they allow bikes with aerobars?  I presume I can just call each event that I'll participate in and ask.  I've heard many of the group rides don't allow aerobars due to the "twitchiness" in handling.  I'm getting some installed on my road bike today.

I never ride w/o a helmet; even to the neighborhood tennis courts and pool.

I may do the hot-100.  Something came up on my schedule for the 16th which will knock out the Wilson County ride.

I'm registered for the metric century for the Hot-100.

Who else is riding?

I did about 80 miles of the Hot 100 last Saturday with some friends.   As I told Chris, bring an airhorn with you after you go thru Woodbury.  Lots of dogs...

Its a good ride, lots of rollers.

Thanks for the link.  I didn't know it was a women's only ride, but I'll pass the link around.  I'll  be doing Old Hickory Lakes tri that day anyway.

Great cause!  My stepmother of almost years is a survivor (diagnosed in 1985).

Don't know if anyone tomorrow will be in BT gear, but I'll be in team Biker's Choice jersey; red, white, blue'ish on a light blue/gray Giant with aerobars.  Looking forward to it!
