Champion 26509 Sydney | Subject: Columbia - HTC Welcome to the Tour De France, Your team line up for this year is: aab abrezo bondgirl bryank14 etselec444 eurydice Happychick patricia7 strates tripreacher
Columbia-HTC will be racing the TDF in a brand new strip for the season and if I can find an image of the new look I will get it up to replace the one Ive posted The team features one of last years GC riders Kim Kirchen who spent time in the Yellow Jersey and Australian contender Michael Rogers returning from a season off last year due to illness. In the Green Jersey the team features race favourite Mark Cavendish who is arguable the man to beat in all contested sprints this year. The man from the Isle of Mann has never finished a grand tour but is picked to do so for the first time in 2009 making him a flying target for other teams with green jersey aspirations.
Just a quick reminder that the challenge rules are posted in the original sign up thread but if there are any queries please let me know! Also... the one rule I need to remind you about is NO posting of information from the live Tour De France in team threads until AT LEAST 24 hours after it has occurred. This is to allow people to watch repeats or time delayed coverage without having their viewing destroyed by knowing the end result! Have a great July... no doubt I will pop in occassionally. My name is Michelle and this is the first challenge I've ever been on a team where I don't "know" anyone so this will be exciting getting to meet you all!! I am currently nursing my foot back to health from a nasty reef cut but luckily my riding hasn't been affected too much. Awesome job to those of you hitting the ground running ~ my first stage will be tomorrow so until then I hope you all have a great 4th of July!!! Edited by Happychick 2009-07-04 7:51 PM |

Master 1548 Perth, Australia | Subject: RE: Columbia - HTC Hi team! My name is Magda, I'm from Perth in Western Australia. I'm ahead in time compared to most of you, I've already ridden Saturday and Sunday, total 70k (44 miles). We're in winter here and this coming week is meant to bring lots of rain, I hope I can get out there! I've put in a conservative goal of 300k (187 miles) and 6 sessions due to possible weather complications for the next 3 weeks! Lets ride! |

She send us all her weather so we are expecting all the rain she speaks of!!! We are in the middle of school holidays as well so my training can be hotch potch. I, therefore have a conservative goal of 10 stages and 420 minutes. It's also our off season so we can be a bit slack, surely. Don't know much about the TdF or any of the teams or riders...hopefully I'll learn. |

Master 1632 Almost Canada, WA | Subject: RE: Columbia - HTC I just finished my first stage of 90 mins for this challenge...only 485 more to go! So I'm just curious (and quite talkative) but who has races coming up? I have my first Oly coming up in a few weeks and I'm a bit worried since my training has been more laxed than I am comfortable with. Unfortunately, life gets in the way sometimes and well...what can you do, right?! Hey look...page 2 and I'm on top! He, He, He! Aaaah, the simple things in life that amuse me... Veteran 165 Aylmer, Qc | Subject: RE: Columbia - HTC Hey team!!! Bryan here from Canada (border of Ontario/Quebec). Looking forward to seeing us wearing yellow at the end of this. For me, this annual Challenge is the big thing, since biking is my A thing. I can't run anymore due to a chronic injury, so I bike my butt off! At least as much as I can in my hectic usual life. For the challenge, I am in for the whole thing, 21 stages with 2 days off (as per the last 2 years). I had to downgrade to 1000 km for volume, since the last week of the Tour my riding time will be limited. So let's go Columbia!! I am SOOOO happy to be on this team, since my two favourite Pro Tour riders are Hincapie and the MadMan Cavendish. BTW, I follow pro biking like must North Americans follow football/baseball, etc. So if you have any questions in regards to the Tour (if you are following it) or about the Pro Tour, shoot away!!! |
