I (and some others) have bombarded this site with Chipotle jokes and tire changing innuendo. Renne got tired of it and got mad. People jumped on both bandwagons. Nastiness ensued. An apology was issued by renee and I understood where she was coming from.

Jim played peacemaker and tried to post nice things about people.

Its on the "kimj kimj come out and play" thread.

Thats my version.

I posted a thread for KimJ81 and the topic was promptly changed to TriComet and the same 2 jokes we've seen for about 3 months. I asked that they not make it about them and I said that some of the jokes were tired and overplayed and couldn't they be more clever? Hijacking continued and I lost my patience when my request was ignored. I disparaged TriComet in a not so indirect manner. I decided I owed TriComet an apology for disparaging her and I gave her a public apology in a separate thread.

They are welcome to their interests and it's not for me to referee how often those interests are discussed or beat to death (not going to be entirely PC here). I simply didn't want it to overtake my post lamenting Kim's absence from BT, as it had so many other posts. I tried to be tactful but that didn't work and then I wasn't tactful.

Now you have the latest news from Lake Woebegone.

p.s. Thanks for weighing in with YOUR thoughts on my actions... except it's kinda the same thing you are faulting others for doing - you know, weighing in with their thoughts. Can't have it both ways, dear. Well, you can try but some of us might call you on it. As we do, here in BTland.

It doesn't matter what you are faulting them for. You are faulting them and they were faulting others. See how that works? If you're going to fault others for faulting others, well, I'd say the pot has become well acquainted with the kettle. Unless, of course, you are the final arbiter of fault on the forum... maybe I should toodle off and read the forum faqs...

Sorry you can't follow that simple logic. Please don't fault me for if I haven't made it any plainer.

You know, I'm glad uberbeginner opened this topic back up because there is something more I have to say (shock!).

I don't think there is anything wrong with complaining. If other people think that 4,273 posts about burritos is more than enough exposure for the burrito lobby, why get your panties in a bunch because they write "I've had enough of burritos!" or whatever the topic may be? Why is that such a bad thing? The only thing I'm sorry about is for inferring that TriC is a narcissist; I hold myself to a higher standard of behavior than that and I apologized for that and that alone. I did not/do not apologize for saying that a tired joke is tired or expecting that I would be left to my playground space. Sometimes we have to defend our playground space with more vehemence than we would like to express, but that's life. No big deal.

People have opinions. You aren't always going to like their opinions. Get over it. Or ignore it. Or bitch about it. But don't expect or ask other people to shut up. And for heaven's sake, forsake the Righteous Indignation of the Hypocrite. Unless you like playing the town fool. Which... you know... if that's your thing... more power to ya. Whatever gets you through the night.
