The formula and multipliers are as follows:

Temperature Wind factor

30-35 .5 point light winds (5-10 mph) 1 point
25-29 1 points 11-19 mph- 2 points
15-24 3 points 20+- 4 points
1-14 5 points
0 and below 8 points

Precip Bike multiplier

drizzle/light snow 1 point 1 point for outdoor ride sub 50 degrees
heavy rain/snow 3 points

Suck-o-meter scoring
Time in minutes x (Temp mult+Wind mult+precip mult+ Bike mult)= Suckitude score

no workout for me today (or most of the last week). we all have the flu. yucko. here are some pictures of where i was running last week, the trails in the woods behind my parents' duluthian home, and of my mom all geared up to run in the cold...

Nice run yesterday.  Please put me down for 232 points.

It's funny how the scale works.  25 degrees on this run.  One degree colder and it would have been worth 464 points.  Oh well.

Didnt get out yesterday, actually the plan was to build a snowfort with my daughter but the temps are too low for that much fun.  The weather forecast is it is going to get colder before it gets warmer. Yesterday high was 5, today we are holding at -6 with a windchill of -16 and the expected high for the next couple of days is 0.

This morning as I was taking my daughter to school, it was -9, she thought they might have indoor recess. I sure hope so. But she thought it was funny because when it warms up to 7, I will probably say it is warm. She's right, our idea of warm right now is 7 whereas other places, warm is 70!

Hope you have a better crummy weather week!

I hope to get back into this challenge, I know I've disappeared for the last several weeks, but we'll see what happens here over the next 6 weeks. I'm off to Australia after that, so no points whatsoever, but my friend and I are going to motivate each other till I leave.

You folks are so dedicated, great job in keeping it going!!!

No points yet this week! Tho my daughter might have points, they had to go outside for recess on Monday, it was -7. The district policy is -10 counting windchill, I dont think the school admin staff counted windchill Monday, guess after the Holiday break the staff needed the kids to go outside! Yesterday the high was -5, the kids did get indoor recess. Supposed to get warmer today, it's already -3.

I'm just trying to make you all feel like it is actually warm where you are!

Have a crummy weather day!

I'm hoping it's rainy for tomorrow's run since it doesn't look like it will be very cold.  35-40 deg?  If the 20 mph winds actually happen that would be cool too.  I love running in strong wind because I don't have a lot of hills close by for short runs.

Heres my breakdown for week:

1/7 Run: 42 mins * ( .5 [31F] + 2 [12 mph winds]) = 105

1/11 Run: 102 mins * ( 0 [41F] + 1 [9 mph winds]) = 102

1/13 Run: 78 min * ( 5 [14F] + 2 [11 mph winds] + 1 [flurries]) = 624

Total craptastic points: 1136

You're supposed to stick the landing with your feet, not your azz.   Just so you know.

We had some pretty cold temps this week. Stuck to indoors more than I wanted. Thursday workout should have been outside but had an inside committment.

This next week is supposed to be better weather. My dog will be happy! I tried her on the treadmill. She got up to 1.5mph with a treat in front of her!
