Way to improve on your previous results - even with the training limitations you have.  Congrats.

Got on the scale today and am down to 224.2 - that is much better than the 228 on Wednesday of last week. The frustrating thing is that if I would not have fallen off the wagon while on vacation I would be under 220.  C'est la vie

Great job on the race Lastcall...

So... I had Qdoba ysterday - enough said. About to go run 3 miles pushing both kids in the jogger.

Still on track for my marathon - feeling good. I have started to get acupuncture (for my leg pain) and it has done wonders. My legs never feel tired on a run anymore

Thanks everyone!

It was a great way to end this season and my Nebraska Tri career - next year it will be all new races for me - exciting and scary at the same time!

Is everyone on vacation this week - or is the problem everyone is back from vacation and swamped at work?   My problem is the latter.  Any way - I am still sticking with my plan of not eating out at lunch - it seems to be working (for the 3 days that I have made it).

Does anyone have suggestions on a resource for quick dinner suggestions for two.  Neither my wife nor I cook and it is very hard to come up with something last minute when we get home...Also - when we do cook and there are leftovers they seem to go to waste.

I'm headed on vacation - so trying to get stuff wrapped up

Something quick and easy that I like to make is chicken, rice and black beans

I use

  • chicken breasts, dice them up
  • black beans - (be sure to drain them)
  • Rice
  • Salsa

and mix it all together

It's quick, easy, yummy, good for you and works well for left overs

Here's another good one

French dip

Ingredients

  • Rump Roast
  • Beef Broth
  • Buns

Directions

  • Season roast with salt and pepper
  • Put roast in covered baking dish/pan/roaster (whatever you have)
  • Put roast in oven at 100 degrees when you go to bed, let it cook overnight (I put a little water in the bottom of the roaster
  • In the morning – put the roast in a crock pot with two cans of beef broth
  • Cook on low until you are ready to eat
  • Slice up the beef
  • Use the broth for the au jus

Quick dinners for me are usually omlette and salad; mushrooms and asparagus on toast with a poached egg; salmon fillet with lemon and dill and salad; prawn and lemon linguini; pasta with basil, tomatoes and feta cheese.

Hope these help.

Not on vacation but very busy.

This is the first week in along time where I feel like I'm on track. Even though I haven't gone over my points before I feel more in control, thank goodness. How's everyone else?

Hope you feel better soon, don't forget to look after yourself at times like these. Can you give yourself a treat of something like a soak in the bath with your favourite mag or a manicure/pedicure?

I did it - I managed to smash through the 200lb barrier this week and now weigh 198lb. I lost 4.5lb!! I'm so pleased with my efforts. It really feels worth it. Go me! I now have only 24lbs to go to get to my target. It's all looking quite achievable.

Excellent Job!!!   Great 4.5lb loss and even better getting through the 200lb barrier.  Keep it up.

Swamped at work for me this week as well.

Beth - WTG on your race!!

Kate & Kylie - WTG on your losses this week and for breaking that 200 barrier, Kate! Welcome to Onederland!!

I went to my meeting on Tuesday and was down 0.6 lbs. I wasn't able to stay for the meeting because we had a pretty good shaker earthquake (5.4 magnitude) right around the time of the meeting. I had to head back over to the office quickly for damage assessment since I'm one of the IT geeks. Thankfully, everything and everyone was fine.

Hi everyone!  Just got back from vacation in California last night.  Managed to get a few workouts in while visiting my brother & his family, but no cycling.  Hoping to do that today.  I went up a few lbs. but that's fine.  It'll come back down when I get back into my routine and eat normal things (instead of flavored iced coffees and a monster Ghirardelli ice cream sundae -- just had to have one while in San Francisco)!

Hello, everyone, long time no see.  Now that my triathlon season is over (a couple of Sept. dus are still on the books), my "off-season" work is ready to begin.  Number 1 on the agenda is to take my weight down to 185, which is about 14 pounds away.  Might sound easy, but I tend to eat as much as I burn off, resulting in a standoff.
