Master  1810    Morse Lake, Noblesville, Indiana |  Subject: August "Welcome Messages" and Log Inspires ChallengeMarm gave us all an assignment in his thread - http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp... - to welcome newbies and to send log inspires. I want to expand on this by creating a challenge for August. My goal. Welcome 2 new people a week, and send 5 inspires per week to people I have never sent inspires before. So, who's up to my challenge? |

I joined last Oct and I can honestly say that it's because of the "warm welcome" that I got from so many of you that I stuck around as I am one who gains a lot of motivation from others! Needless to say, I'm in...2 newbies/5 inspires (yea, I'm a copy cat also)  . |

I am mostly thinking about welcoming new members, since I think we will all be checking the same threads.... I would welcome this challenge as a fun way to pay forward the welcome that I received when I joined in September. |

Welcoming two new people was super-easy, but then picking five random strangers to inspire was a lot harder than I thought! I wanted to pick people who didn't already have a ton of inspires, but also found it hard to inspire people without them thinking I was a psycho stalker or something. I think I might just start inspiring the first five new people I see every week and be done with it! |

I choose to inspire people who were on the race thread for an upcoming event I am also in. I tried to choose folks who mentioned it was their first race or only had a few posts so appeared to be new. Hopefully no restraining orders will be issued. So far this week: 2 newbie thread welcomes and 3 inspires. |
