Swim 5:30

T1 1:30

Bike 35

T2 1:00

Run 24

1:07

Run will be iffy since I have not run much and legs have been sore.  This not an A race so there will be no taper and I plan on riding 30 miles on Saturday so I might not be completely fresh (see I'm already making excuses).  Might be able to  pull out a little more speed  on the bike (maybe).

Ideally time under 1:10 and I will be satisfied.

Swim 6:10-15 ish or a 1:45/100 meter pace
Bike right around 18.5mph since this is a windy course
run right at 30 min
I'm doing an IM tranistiion where I run back inside to completely change so 8 min for each one

but actualy with a bigger race in just a couple of weeks I'm thinking dont' drown, don't crash, or trip, fall. basically don't injure my self.

Ken....I'd say that it's a definate, maybe we'll have either showers or sunshine.  Does that answer your question?  (about as good as the local weather "meteorologist" does, right?).

Oh and Bonnie...bummer you won't be on the post race ride...I already told Angie you were in.  :-(  Now I have to reverse that statement...*sigh*

I was going to invite Sabrina out on this as it sounds the pace may be a bit more tame than usual but this is a Playtri race so she'll be out there doing massage instead. I plan on volunteering for the race and hopefully can get something like swim exit or bike course duty so I'm not out there too long on the run course.

What time after the race are we planning on going? If my volunteering is taking too long you guys can feel free to go on without me.

I say as soon as awards are over we start riding unless none of us win something.  If it does rain I probably won't ride though.  I have enough problems saying vertical on the bike when the roads are dry.

Does anyone know how accurate the distances are?  I just mapped the the bike course at 6.5 per loop, which would be 13 miles total not 12.  Not a big deal but I am trying to figure out my goal times a 1 mile is about 3 minutes.

I remember it being a little more than 12 miles from last year. I looked at last years race report and I had put 12.75 according to my bike computer. I think I saw a few others in the 12.7-12.8 range as well.

Thanks. I guess my goal then is >20mph on the bike regardless of distance and everything else stays the same.

I had 13 miles for the course I believe, it's a windy course with some right angle turns.  I don't think many people avg 20 for last year

I was over 21mph for my first tri with no aero bars. There should be a 4 right turns for one loops.

LAST YEAR'S RESULTS

Hitting 20mph using last year will be though.  Now if the course is really 13 not 12 that makes the mph shown to low.  Basically if you are in the top 1/3 of bike splits from last year you are around 17.7mph.  Last year only 30 people were over 20 out of 320.

I ride the area around the course quite frequently and there will be a decent wind probably but it will be at your back heading up Main so you can get moving pretty good.  I really think close to 20mph is possible.

It comes up to apx 6.3 mile when I guess at it though.. be carefull it's almost 80 ft of climbing on this course... I hope everyone did some hill training
