I've been training hard for my water station volunteer assignment. When I get home from work, I stand at the end of the driveway with a table full of water cups and hand them out to the runners and walkers who go down the street. I feel ready!

Let the taper begin!!!!!

I've ordered new batteries for the bull horn and have been drinking lots of beer to simulate race-day conditions. I also ordered a new video camera.

This weekend I'll be scouting out my spot on State street

And chain droppage (ahem, AJ), and collisions like a couple of persons did in '07 just after mounting and before heading down the helix.

*mental note: remove batteries from bullhorn*

How about around the State Street turnaround and bug the heck out of that guy who is at that pylon?  I think there's a bar there.

Just drove by the lake this morning enroute to work, and the scene was so quiet, the lake had no ripples in it, there was little to no breeze, it was just cool enough temp-wise, and the sun was brightly shining.  Ahhhhhhhhh.  I had a heightened excitement go through me.  I sense that Sept. 13 will be just the same scenario.  *crossing fingers*

I feel great and am getting ready to rent out a ZIPP 808 set today.

Anyone else??

Joe Runner....make sure you stay close to FILL-UP until he gets on his bike...he may just deside to fall over clipped in..(ahem!!)

I'm afraid...I'm expecting much pain and agony...I'm probably gonna get the hydration/nutrition thing screwed up...did I mention I'm expecting pain? But other than that, I'm in a very positive place mentally....

Hell if I know if I'm ready, first timer. Have I followed the plan? nope. Did I (will I) hit all my volume goals? nope. Will these things matter? d'no. Am I looking forward to it? you betcha! Can't wait to see and hang with all the other donks doin' this thing.

Yep - usually happens when I'm cruising around that 0 - 3 mph speed zone when I go PLUNK, after that I'm pretty good.  I think it breaks up the tension for people - they need a good laugh to ease their day.

I am very excited.  I know I haven't trained what I should have.  I still have two weeks to hit hard before the taper begins.  I am nervous and excited, wondering what I got myself into, wondering if I can really do it, knowing deep down inside I can find it in me if I can keep my legs going.  This is seriously going to be one of the biggest days of my life.  Now I just have to wait.

I am excited and tired.  Other than that not really all that nervous at this point.  Just ready for the day to get here so that we can get it on.

I have no volunteer commitments. So, I'm not even training. But, I'm ready for the day. You betcha.

Now, I want approximate finish times so I know when to be standing at the finish line cheering my fool head off.

My first and foremost goal.... get across the line before midnight... anything before that and me still standing will be awesome!

Hence the reason for the new batteries in the bullhorn.

You will make it up that hill!!

I'm counting on the sound waves being strong enough to propel a 200 lb mass up 300 feet of climb. Hoping those batteries you're buying are up to it
