Master 2201 Elgin, | Subject: Ground Pounders Team Thread - Nov USMC Challenge Just a quick reminder of the rules of the challenge. The goal of the challenge is to get 5 workouts of at minimum 30 minutes. The workout does not have to be one straight exercise or done all at once. What this means is as long as you get 30 minutes of exercise in the day it will count for the point. For example, if you run for 15 minutes in the morning and lift wieghts in the evening for 25 minutes for a total of 40 minutes you have enough time to be counted. Each workout that is successfully completed is worth a point. The time periods that you have to complete your workouts and have them counted are Nov 8th, Nov 15th, Nov 22nd, and Nov 30th. I will try to get a spreadsheet up to log the points in. As a bonus you can get one extra point for any two time periods. What this means for you is there is a total of 22 points out of 20 points total. Yes there is a chance to get an extra 10%. The team that gets the most points wins the challenge. The teams are as follows: Ground Pounder
I recommend that you take this chance to ge to know your teammates as it will take everbody to win this challenge. Good luck. Update 10/31 Here is a link to your team spreadsheet - Ground Pounders Team Thread - Nov USMC Challenge It is in a google spreadsheet the username is btchallenge the password is challenge forum just give a shout if you have any trouble! Let the games begin! Edited by lastcall2003 2008-10-31 2:02 PM |

Master 1817 Lafayette, IN | Subject: RE: Ground Pounders Team Thread - Nov USMC Challenge Hey all! I'm Emily. I live in Lafayette, Indiana. I recently finished up my first season of triathlon and am working on improving my run in the off-season. How about a mini get-to-know-you biography? I'm 31. I work in a chemistry lab. I've started going back to school part time. I tend to neglect housework (and schoolwork) in favor or running, biking, and swimming. When I get the chance to sit down and relax, I like to knit. I'm a bit of a music junkie. And I'm full of useless movie trivia. Looking forward to getting to know everyone. Chat at ya laters! |

Pro 3730 NorCal | Subject: RE: Ground Pounders Team Thread - Nov USMC Challenge Yay team Ground Pounders!! I'm Abbie, live just north of San Fran. I finished my first IM in Aug, having been tri-ing for 3 seasons now, love this I work in advertising sales, hate talking about my job...my hubby barely even knows what I do for a living! We have 2 dogs also known as our 4-legged kids. I have an obsession with peach sqaures on the training log, so I log workouts everyday! Edited by AbbieR 2008-10-30 10:18 AM |

Queen BTich 12411 , | Subject: RE: Ground Pounders Team Thread - Nov USMC Challenge Emily, I like to knit too! Not too many knitters around here. I'm just a beginner though, I've done a couple projects and I'm nervous scared about learning to knit a hat in the round. Anyway, I'm in the Army, but I work shift work so I don't participate in organized PT like most military people, including the guy who started this challenge. So I'm like everyone else and have to fit it into my own time. Hopefully some of us will get extra points! |

They actually have a Triathlon Knitters group. I don't hang out there very often because I like |

Extreme Veteran 307 | Subject: RE: Ground Pounders Team Thread - Nov USMC Challenge roni is so welcome! She was on Massive Monsters with me & is a great addition! Glad to have another 12-hour shifter here - although, I think I've got it a little easier doing days - nights SUCK!!! Sorry for you - I'd never go back - I felt like a sea slug when I worked nights...eat, sleep, work, repeat. |

I work nights though, getting 30-1h in before work can be tough! Finally someone understands! I used to work 12 hour nights. I was a complete slug on my 3 nights on. It seemed like it took the whole 12 hours off just to get enough sleep to survive the next night. Now I'm a 2nd shifter. 3pm to midnight, Monday thru Friday. Much easier to deal with. I still get to sleep in a bit and usually have time to get in a workout before I have to go to school and then work. |
